You want your manuscript to be clean and readable…

And you know that cleaning up clunky stuff AND editing for grammar, spelling, and typos is exactly what you need to achieve that.

The problem is...

  • You’re a writer - NOT a grammar nerd. (Or maybe you ARE a grammar nerd but you can’t see what’s left in your own writing.)
  • Editing feels monumental and overwhelming - you don’t know where to start.
  • You know you want to hire an editor - but that budget has you trembling like a mouse when a hawk flies by! (Can you tell I live in the country?)
  • And even if you ARE ready to hire an editor… you don’t know who to trust!

If you’re over there nodding and wincing, I’ve got some good news to share:

There’s a fast-and-easy solution - keep reading!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could…

  • Have a proven process to self-edit your book - KNOWING your manuscript will be as clean as you can possibly make it.
  • Save yourself headaches in the editing process - no more thinking, “Didn’t I already look for this?!”
  • Save money! When you DO hire an external editor, you’ll be presenting a more polished draft (and that will reflect in their fees.)

And all without burning yourself out, losing your mind in the details, or wasting time trying to edit without a plan!

That’s the real magic that happens when you have these easy-to-follow tips (and order) for self-editing your manuscript!

Introducing…

Draft Doctor

A short course (with checklists!) to help you self-edit your manuscript and get it into tip-top shape so that you can get back to writing!

  • Know your manuscript is as polished as you can possibly make it (saving you money when you hire a proofreader!*)

* Yes, I think you should STILL hire a proofreader or copyeditor to catch the things that your brain says are clean but actually… aren’t. (And you’re not seeing the problems any more.)

And the best part?

You can get it for just $9.

One-time payment - yes, REALLY!

You might be wondering…

How long will this take?

Going through Draft Doctor itself will take you 21 minutes to watch the video training. I kept it short and sweet so you can dive into your edits.

Editing your manuscript… that is going to depend on how long it is and how rough it is when you’re starting. Never fear! With the checklists for each editing tip and step, you can step away from the edits and know where to pick it back up.

What if I haven’t finished my book yet?

You should finish a draft BEFORE you edit. Seriously! Why spend time on a section of the book that might get cut or completely re-written later?!

Editing can FEEL like progress or “working” on your book when you really should be writing! Don’t kid yourself.

And if you’re stuck on writing and want to do “something productive” - editing isn’t it. What you NEED then is Boost Your Creative Juice.

What will I need to have?

Just your manuscript! While printing it and reading it aloud can really help, you don’t have to. All these editing tips are designed to be done on your computer, in your word processor of choice.

Should I use Track Changes?

No! I don’t think you should clutter up your manuscript with track changes since you ARE the author. (But do insist that any outside editors do use Track Changes.)

Can’t I just hire someone?

Absolutely! And I DO still recommend you hire another editor to go over it to catch anything you missed (or can’t see as still being unclear.) But, the more you do yourself, i.e. the cleaner the manuscript is NOW, the less expensive the next editor will be.

How long will I have access to Draft Doctor?

I’m a big believer in lifetime access - which means that you’ll be able to return to Draft Doctor again and again. When I update the course, you’ll have instant, free access to any future updates as well.

I have a different question.

Great! Email me at
kim@newfrontierbooks.com and I’ll get you sorted out.

Hi, I'm Kim!

Hi, I'm Kim Galloway, best-selling author of over 20 books, and I help message-driven authors to FINALLY write their book so they can share their message, help the people they’re meant to help, and get more clients.

I'm a desert-residing, outdoors-loving, mom of four amazing kiddos. My husband, Ben, and I live in rural New Mexico with wild turkeys, a friendly herd of deer, dogs, and views for days!

My live-by-faith realization was that after working in my dad's tax office for ten years -- a job I couldn't quit and where I couldn't get fired -- I was squandering my God-given gift of writing and storytelling. My gift is helping authors uncover their DEEPER message (going beyond the “should” book and into a life-changing experience) so that they can write the book that’s on their hearts, but also have fun doing it.

I have a string of best-selling books in my name AND I help authors just like you to write their books, publish them (usually via self-publishing), and go on to have bestselling books as well.

I’ve packed all my BEST self-editing tips into Draft Doctor so you can clean up YOUR work - easily and without getting “lost in the weeds.”

The material is amazing. I learned more in a few hours than in days reading “how to” articles. It helps having a real person, Kim, speak in real language.

- Andrew Rice

I’m so excited to get going with my book! Kim offered more information than I expected and all of the information was thoroughly usable.

Points were brought to light that I hadn’t thought of and I’m so excited to get started!

- Jennifer Morris

Kim broke things down in a very simple way to help me understand the exact steps to take.
